Paraprofessional Appreciation Day is observed annually on the first Wednesday of April. The day is dedicated to paraprofessional educators who work with and alongside teachers, delivering targeted support to students, supporting classroom and student success in so many invaluable ways.
The paraprofessional role was introduced in the 1960s as “teacher aides.” In the 1970s, the significant support they provided for student-centered instruction was recognized. Federal legislation and funding followed, allowing for the creation of programs to employ and train paraprofessionals.
TODAY’S THE DAY! Please join us in celebrating the paraprofessionals who support our students and classrooms at Meyer, Middleton, and McCracken. We appreciate all that they do!
