McCracken 8th grade female and gender expansive students will be eligible to attend the Futures Unlimited field trip at Oakton Community College (Des Plaines campus) on Thursday, December 15th.
Futures Unlimited is a one-day educational program that provides 8th grade girls with exciting opportunities to explore diverse careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
This free field trip includes sessions with role models composed of women who have achieved success in a variety of non-traditional careers; hands-on workshops led by Oakton Community College faculty, staff, and graduate students; and breakout sessions introducing STEM programming at area high schools.
Permission forms were handed out through 8th grade advisories and are due back no later than this Wednesday, October 26th. Lunch will be provided for the students (information is available on the permission slip).
