Dear Kindergarten Families,
We are looking forward to welcoming our Kindergarten students to the first day of school tomorrow, Thursday, August 22, 2024!
Kindergarten students not riding the school bus may arrive at Meyer School between 8:30 and 8:40 a.m. and will enter at Door #7 on the north side of the school, whether you are walking, parking and walking, or using the Meyer Drive-Thru.
Please keep in mind, there will be no staff supervision of students on the playground this year before school. All students will enter at Door #7 and go straight to their classrooms/lockers, which will help smooth the transition to the school day and allow us to start the day on time.
If you are using the Meyer Drive-Thru, please enter from Kildare Avenue and pull up near Door #7. The Drive-Thru is one way and one lane. Meyer staff will be there to help your child out of the car and walk them to the building.
If you plan to park your car and walk, you may park in the school’s lot or on the street. If you park on the street, there is no parking on the east side of Tripp Avenue, and please do not block any driveways on Kildare. Please do not park in the slanted parking spots on Kildare, as these are reserved for preschool families for their drop-off.
For families who have signed up for the Early Bird program, please drop your child off at Door #12E, just south of the main entrance on Tripp Avenue, between 7:00 and 8:25 a.m.
For families who have signed up for the Kindergarten school bus, you should have received confirmation of your bus corner and times. Please be patient while waiting for the bus in the first few days, as everyone is getting used to the bus routine and it may take longer than usual. Breakfast is also available for purchase in the cafeteria from 8:10 to 8:25 a.m. for kindergarten students. Please bring your child to Door #12E (just south of the main entrance), where you will sign them in and your food service account will be charged.
