MEYER Fall Intervention Letter

The message below is a translatable supplement to letter sent to multilingual families.

Dear Meyer Parents/Guardians,

Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is a state-wide general education initiative involving the identification and continuous monitoring of student academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. In this three-tiered model, students continue to participate in the core curriculum while receiving additional interventions, which is best practice for providing student support services. Each tier of the MTSS process provides students with increasingly more intensive, research-based instructional strategies and support, as needed.

The process begins with a screening of all students in all classrooms. In kindergarten, we utilize data from FastBridge measures, including letter names, letter sounds, rhyming, beginning sounds, number identification, and number sequencing (counting). This information, along with classroom data, is used to help support recommendations for receiving interventions.

You are receiving this letter because your child was identified as a candidate for additional support in math and/or reading. Based on the fall assessment data, your child will be receiving additional services from our interventionist. This is described more on the back of this letter.

To learn more about MTSS within District 73.5, please visit our MTSS Family Site at www.sd735.org/cia/mtss.

When families and schools work together, student learning is enhanced. Please contact us if you have any questions or participation concerns.  Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Dr. Helen Wei
Principal
