We would like to give you an update on the “Adaptive Pause” that we began on November 10th.
The complete message from Interim Superintendents Ellen and Dr. John Correll is posted in our Update Center and includes translations of their message in Arabic, Spanish, Tagalog, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
Adaptive Pause is a strategy that allows school districts to take action to help make sure that our staff and students remain safe. Adaptive Pause essentially moves students and staff back to a full remote teaching model until it is safe to attend school. Currently, numbers of positive COVID-19 cases continue to be at a substantial level, meaning that districts must consider remote teaching only.
Before bringing staff or students back into our buildings, we will be taking guidance from not only the Skokie Department of Health, but also the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and our 73.5 Board of Education.
Within the next couple of weeks, we will be initiating a “dashboard” on the Skokie 73.5 website, allowing us to share with you the most recent information regarding the COVID-19 incidence metrics in our district’s community.
We know that this is a very challenging time for all families. We will do our best to keep you updated.
