While District 73.5 encourages the community to follow all travel guidance, at this time there is NO mandatory travel quarantine for domestic travel. The Skokie Department of Health has also not implemented travel-related quarantine orders. Additionally, we surveyed the surrounding districts in both North Cook and Lake County and found that the majority are not imposing a mandated quarantine requirement after domestic spring break travel. Therefore, in line with the Skokie Health Department and the surrounding districts, Skokie 73.5 will not require staff or students to quarantine based on domestic spring break travel. However, if you experience symptoms after your travel, you must remain home and alert the district. We are relying on your judgment to keep your school community safe. Please continue to monitor your health with daily temperature checks, even when not at work or school. If you experience any symptoms, STAY HOME!
International Travel
According to the CDC (February 18, 2021): “Testing before and after travel can reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Testing does not eliminate all risk, but when paired with a period of staying at home and precautions like wearing masks and social distancing, it can make travel safer by reducing spread on planes, in airports, and at [travelers'] destinations."
- We are asking that if you travel internationally, you quarantine for 14 days upon return.
- There are additional CDC requirements regarding entering the U.S. Please check with your airline.
