Families, staff, and special guests gathered in the Middleton library on Thursday, February 8th for a meeting of the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC). Representatives from The Early Childhood Alliance discussed the importance of literacy in our first language and shared resources, music, and books that build Urdu literacy and vocabulary skills.
Multilingual staff members Aasia Shahid and Mahwish Bhatti reached out to families to share the importance of supporting first language skills and our community cultures. Sally Alvarado, Deb Shawver, Ashley Kang, Nahrain Behnam, Samia Sharief, and District EL Coordinator Lyla Nissan were on hand to welcome everyone to this very special evening.
