Richard McDonald

Joining District 73.5 in August of 2022, Richard McDonald is completing his 5th year as an executive technology leader out of his 15 years of progressive experience in the field of education and information technology. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Graphic Design from DePaul University and a Masters Degree in Information Systems Management from Northwestern University.

Prior to his appointment as CIO for the district, McDonald has overseen and designed infrastructure for multiple school districts and academic programs in a broad field of interactive arts (programming, game development, CVFX, 3D Arts, etc.). Completing his 5th year as an adjunct instructor, he also enjoys his time teaching computer programming and web design. His work with the district is focused on developing a future-ready infrastructure that will empower the learning experience and assist our educators with access to innovative technologies that will give our students an early start to opportunities in emerging fields.
