Dear Families,
Halloween is on Tuesday, October 31st. As a reminder, Skokie School District 73.5 does not observe Halloween during the school day. Students and staff are not permitted to wear costumes or distribute candy.
The decision to replace traditional Halloween celebrations with a Fall Fest was made by the Board of Education Equity Committee in the fall of 2022 to create a welcoming activity that all students could enjoy together. For more information, please see Dr. Hightower’s September 26, 2022 letter to the Skokie73.5 school community.
Special thanks to the PTO for hosting this year’s Fall Fest last Sunday, October 15th, and to all who attended.
Sincerely,
Dr. Zipporah Hightower
Superintendent
